Overcoming Roadblocks on the Road to Audio Chicks Publication

So many hours of recordings - needing to be transposed to text. I am in search of a software that would make it easier because it takes me roughly an hour to get three minutes worth of recording onto paper. I am unwilling to make such a time investment if I don't need to. In this day and age, I feel like I can find a software that will take the audio and convert it to a reasonable text format so that I can tweak and edit, as opposed to typing it all. This has been my biggest roadblock so far, but I am determined to overcome this somehow so I can proceed. This book will write itself if I can get over this hurdle.

Frustrating.....

Nashville Audio Women (NAW) - Awwww hell NAW!

Great news! 2014 is my year. My primary goal this year is to complete the research and writing for this book. I took a publishing class and have a distinct direction in mind, and now the words need to do the walking.

Until this moment in time my personal life was a struggle for stability, and creative pursuits were not a luxury that I could or would accommodate. But now I have focus, time, stability and motivation. Every arrow from the heavens points toward this project, so I am listening and remain receptive to it.

I have started a new Facebook group for women in Nashville. There aren't that many of us, so I feel it is important to make sure that we all feel supported and not so alone. The link:

Come connect, Nashville-based gals!

2012 - Still Searching for Purpose

This project in still in the midst of its own process, and I am happy to report that because it was not published yet, I don't have to share any money (and fame, obviously! ha!) with my now-ex-husband. No, truly, I am deciding between having this project go academic (via a PhD program) or keeping it more familial and edgy - or somewhere down the middle. My natural writing, of course, is the edgy type, and I feel it would reach a wider audience that way, but as I sit and ponder, I also feel that greater good would be served if I can parlay this into an actual dissertation.

I have discovered a number of programs in which this project might adequately fit, so I may sit on this a bit longer to see..... for the females already interviewed - thank you for your patience. For any readers I may have reached along the way, thank you and stay tuned. It ain't over until it's over!

Still On It!

What what!  Still in the process of this - writing phase is underway. Follow up interviews scheduled for 2013, and statistics to be collected. Had to take a break to change jobs, move to Texas, move back to Nashville, divorce, dissolve Sharkbait Studios, and begin JCreative Multimedia.  Just your average life of Jill Courtney..... never a dull moment, as they say.....

Audio Chicks - Chapter 1

My first chapter for this book is complete (or it might turn into the intro). This project is slowly proceeding.
